Collaborating with Disney and Accenture
I just finished up my project over at Disney Studios. Too bad it wasn't a consumer-facing product, but rather an advanced internal tool tailored for seamless content delivery. Working on the UI design allowed me to integrate my web design expertise into a highly sophisticated enterprise automation system.
There was talk today that Accenture had helped create a less sophisticated version of a similar product over at Warner Bros (WB). And that WB's automation system had won a pioneering Emmy award. Logically speaking, this Disney iteration is functionally superior and more scalable, so Disney should apply for an award as well. I was thinking "Award-Winning Automation System" sounds really good!
Anyway, it was a great pleasure to work with Accenture and Disney. It was Disney's brainchild, and I meshed in my web design experience to help with the UI architecture. But we all developed it as a collaborative team effort. Every individual helped with the design of a module or two, ensuring the transcoding pipeline was intuitive and robust.
I just marvel at the feat of collaboration there alone. Building a content delivery system of this magnitude requires exceptional coordination. Will miss those guys.
